First Ever Saturday Morning Post

This is my first Saturday morning post ever.  I really had no reason to write other than the fact that this is my first Saturday morning post ever.

I'm currently sitting on my balcony trying to steal the internet/wifi from Buffalo Wild Wings across the street.  It's loud out here and my wifi connection goes from full to zero every five seconds.  But hey, in these crazy times...I just can't shell out the 50 bucks a month Cox is trying to charge me.  Plus it's 67 out today so I am certainly enjoying the weather, even if I want to punch through my screen every few minutes when the connection is dropped.  And I have to get up every two and a half minutes to get Gordon to stop eating the fake grass I have out here for him.

This morning I woke up at 7 (thanks to Sir Gordon), fed the little man and laid in bed watching VH1's countdown for the next hour.  Then I got up, got dressed and (wait for it, wait for it...) I WENT TO THE GYM.  This is the first time in six months I had been, I had to have eener drive because I couldn't remember how to get there.  This all stems from a few weeks ago when my boyfriend challenged me to do five push-ups.  I couldn't even do one.  On my knees, yes but a full body...I collapsed every time.

We then went to Starbucks where I am sure I drank all the calories I had just spent the last hour burning off but that's OK...I feel buff.  What is not OK is that for the past 30 minutes, I've been trying to purchase FOTC's Sugalumps (hysterical, last week's episodes was one of my favs ever) on iTunes and it keeps telling me I have the wrong password/screen name.  NOT TRUE.  I have had the same aim name since I was 11 years old.  I am not kidding.  It doesn't even make sense.  I'd tell you what it is but my blog is getting so popular, I can't have all my fans im'ing me all the time...I'd never get any work done!

Things I would like to do today: I'd like to go to Urban Outfitters and by those rose earrings I've been wanting forever.  I also want these from Anthropologie (both items inspired by Nie who is blogging again btw and is now a bigger inspiration to me than ever.) I'd also like to go to a bunch of thrift stores to go picture frame shopping for my new wall project.  I'd like to go to Red Rock for a hike with Gordo.  I'd like to go back to sleep for a few hours.  I'd like to get halfway through a book and finish my new Entertainment Weekly.  But more than likely I will sign off from here, take Gordon for a walk, get frustrated with the fact that there are no sidewalks where we live, go see Pep, come home, get ready and go to my preview dinner at the new Sammy's tonight at 7.  Maybe a movie after?  I've been able to cross most of my Oscar movies off the list now but I've still got to see The Reader, Frost/Nixon and Last  Chance Harvey oh and rent Vicky Christina Barcelona.

Tomorrow is the Superbowl.  I'm going to put $5 on TBD.

Bad Dog

So I came home last night around 11:30 to have Sir Gordon greet me at the door.
Now, I'm not sure how many of you know this but since he is a terrorizing puppy (think Marley & Me), he is crated. So why, I ask you, WHY was my puppy looking the happiest I have ever seen him outside of that crate?
I present to you class, exhibit A:
Oh did he have a good time though. He destroyed my sheep skin rug (see exhibit B below and yes, I know it looks exactly like his own fur but I promise you, it was sheep skin.), ate all of Sienna's food, spread all of his toys throughout the condo BUT he DID go potty on the pee-pad (Good Boy, Gordon!)
exhibit B:
Needless to say, I didn't get much sleep last night and was late to work this morning as I went on a hunt for a new crate for the little guy.
75 bucks later, he has a new home (exhibit C). I don't think he'll be escaping this one.

Yes We Did!

Welp, after 6 long months, 486 photos and 4 submissions...Sir Gordon was finally crowned The Daily Puppy yesterday.

For those of you who are not familiar with this website, it is pretty much the People Magazine of the puppy world. So our favorite teddy bear basically just landed the cover by being honored with the title of Daily Puppy.

This goes back, kids, way back to when I first took an interest in the Goldendoodle breed. You see, I have the site on my iGoogle homepage and one day a little guy named Atlas popped up as the featured puppy, I clicked and my heart melted. From that day on, I knew that I wanted a Goldendoodle pup to call my own.

A year later, Sir Gordon took a plane from Michigan to come join Sienna and I and the rest is history. Our little guy has received 3,089 votes so far and you can make that more by visiting his page and giving him some biscuits!

Besides all that excitement, I went on a girl's trip with Pep and some of her friends over this past weekend to go see The Lion King (Broadway style) in Tempe, AZ. (for those of you locals, yes, this was BEFORE we found out the play would be taking the place of Mama Mia here in Vegas). We had a lot of fun in such a short amount of time. The drive was chatty and comfortable, the company was superb, the weather beautiful, the drinks and snacks plentiful and the play...oh my! The costumes were unreal, my favorites were the giraffes.

Until next time...

The Countdown

In honor of the "one-week-from-today-omg!" countdown, I have decided to post this very HOT photo of Jack, pardon, Matthew Fox.

Yeah. In the words of Lauren when I emailed her this very photo just a few moments ago...

WHOA.

The Letter G

As I was preparing to write this post, I thought to myself, "Ok, gotta talk about Golden Globes over the weekend, Gossip Girl last night, my love for Golden Spoon and post some of those photos of Gordon."

Apparently, this post is dedicated to the letter G.

I love movies. I go to the movies at least once a week. I also love red carpet. And celebrity gossip. So you can imagine, when red carpet season comes along (January-February), I am one giddy girl. It all kicks off with the Golden Globe awards. I like to relate this to the Playoffs in football leading up to the Superbowl (i.e. The Academy Awards a.k.a. The Oscars). The Golden Globes aired Sunday night so Bear and I printed out ballots and placed our bets. At one point during the three-hour broadcast, I was up by two but then Slumdog Millionaire came and swept the final categories, bringing Brian up for a final score of 17 of 27 and I 16 of 27. So now I have to eat a steak and take him to a movie. I have never eaten a steak in my life. Oh and Cheesecake, which I'm not as worried about. I'm sure there will be a post dedicated just to my steak experience. BTW, if you have not yet seen Slumdog Millionaire, please go. After all, it did win Best Picture, Best Original Screenplay and Best Score.

What G was next?

Oh yes, Gossip Girl. Did you watch?? How that show was NOT nominated for a Golden Globe amazes me. Mad Men, psh. They don't have Chuck Bass.

Golden Spoon. Is delicious. I get on kicks and I picked up some last night to enjoy at Bears for our GG hour. Chocolate and vanilla with snickers topping. A girl couldn't be happier.

Oh yes, last but certainly not least...for those of you who have the iPhone, please download the app Toy Camera. Totally worth the buck ninety nine. I took some photos of my muse, Sir Gordon, to show you. Enjoy :)

OMFG

I heart Gossip Girl. I never thought that a show could top LOST but I think this one may have with these past two seasons. It's like a younger version of Sex and the City, with just as much sass and sex. The ads above should explain that.

Seriously, if you don't watch this show now...I suggest you make a point to in 2009. That's right, I'm actually suggesting you make it your New Year's resolution to start watching Gossip Girl.

Want a second opinion? Here, the brilliant minds over at New York Magazine agree with me and tagged it the Best. Show. Ever. Read this, now (please).

(special thanks to Chloe for helping me finally figure out the link issue!)

When you do start watching, make sure that the next day, you religiously go visit The Daily Intel over at NY Magazine. They do a reality vs. not-so-reality comparison that really is just plain genius.

I've got Bear hooked and it only took three episodes, even though he paused every 5 seconds to ask the background on the characters...but still, worth it to have him understand when I say "No, I can't go out tonight, there is a new GG episode on." Or him knowing that opening the OMFGG (Original Music Featured on Gossip Girl) as one of my Christmas gifts would make me squeal like the 15-year-old girls on the show.

Call it a guilty pleasure, call it a way of life...whatever you've got to do but give it at least two episodes...or rent the first season on DVD...and tell me you're not totally OMG hooked.
