Quite the (rear) View.

Andy picked me up yesterday afternoon from Scream to head to Steamboat. After we packed a ridiculous amount of things in the back of his VW, we were officially mountain bound.

I've always wanted to capture a great rearview window shot and yesterday, thanks to the 3:30 departure time from Denver, allowing us to hit the Rockies right around sunset  - I got it.

Now to the slopes

Little Treasures: Lily Toliet Paper Photo

This has to be one of my favorite photos of all time.

It was taken when I had my place with Ann and she had a kitty named Lily who was just the most hilarious cat. She was super active and my boyfriend at the time was unemployed so he would just take a ton of photos of Lily throughout the day (Sienna was too busy cleaning herself inside the closest or hiding underneath the rug to come out and play).

I was separating photos the other day and this one just had to be shared.

It has to be one of the best photos he has ever captured. Talk about being caught red-handed/clawed.

Ann, if you're reading this, I miss you. You too, Lily.

A June Sunset

So just like the rest of June, this sunset last night was absolutely perfect.

We had just finished winning our kickball game and were packing up for the bar when I stopped to capture it.

June, you are beautiful.

I am OVER May

That sky is pretty much how May has felt to me.

But see that hole of SUNSHINE in that dark cloud?

Yeah, that is called JUNE and it is right around the corner....

I can make it.

Hot Air Balloon

So I know that going to the Hot Air Balloon Festival in New Mexico is on my 100 but what I failed to mention on that list was is how desperately I want to RIDE in a hot air balloon.

I mean yes, I get excited at the thought of attending the festival and OH THE PICTURES but I want to be a part of the action.

For as long as I can remember, I've been just fascinated by these giants in the sky.

Saw this one on my way to work this morning, pulled over in a parking lot and snapped away. Afterward, my head was in the clouds all morning thinking about a ride and researching how to make it happen.

Do you know they do rides with champagne? SOLD. Who's with me?

Vegas Sunrise

This weekend was one for the books. I am still gathering all of my thoughts (and photos) on it - any maybe still sobering up a little bit - let's be honest.

In the meantime, the photo above was a result of seeing the sunrise Sunday morning from the Fantasy Tour at The Palms.

Intrigued? I thought you might be. Stay tuned.

Heavenly

As previously noted, Vegas actually experienced some weather this week. The air feels crisp and clean and the sky continues to change brilliantly on an hourly basis. Here is a shot from this morning on my drive to Sbux/work. It looks just heavenly.

Snapshots

I was driving to Downtown LV last night and almost crashed my car 15 + times trying to capture the pure MAGNIFICENCE that was the Vegas sky last night. About a year ago, I remember noticing that the sky above the MGM, when it was foggy, would turn bright green and made the sky look like the Wicked Witch of the West was coming for us all. The weather was just right for this to take form last night and THEN there was red added to the view and I immediately thought "OMG CityCenter is on fire!" Seriously. I thought CityCenter was burning. I have never seen a sky like this before. It was breathtaking. I was trying so desperately to capture the essence of it and then I remembered the QUADcamera (there is an app for that) and here is the magic.
