R-O-C-K-I-E-S

On Sunday, I attended my first Rockies game. Lucky for me, I know that there will be many more and hopefully not too many like Sunday. I only say that because it was FREEZING COLD. And not like Vegas freezing cold - Denver freezing cold - at least for May. It was oh, about 45, probably - with no sun in sight.

Oh and we lost. 8-2.

The day was not lost, however, we still had a fantastic time. The Wicklers along with Michael, came to my place at 10 a.m. to tailgate. Afterall, there is nothing like having PBR and Sexy Pizza in your system by 11:30 in the morning. Even Gordon was in the spirit on his purple blanket.

The cab came to pick us up at 12:30 and by 12:50, thanks to my forgetting my i.d. that didn't even work at the game thanks to the hole through it, we were at Coors Field. Andy, Erin, Greg, Kristen and Jake met us and we hiked up the stairs to our $7 (!!) seats.

There was not enough beer to keep us warm so come inning 6, we were down in the bar with the rest of Denver.

I am so happy to have some teams to call my own now. Rockies, I know that this is our season. See you at the next game.

First $1 Beer Night of the Season

Yeah, I know you recognize those ladies. The three of us were not at the club last night though, we were at Cashman Field. You see last night was the first $1 beer night of the 2009 baseball season for the Las Vegas 51s. (Yeah, our local baseball team is awesome like that and our mascot looks like Jar Jar Binks from Star Wars.) And I know the background of the pic above is awesome. If you've been to Cashman, you know we were in line for beer and pretzels when this photo took place. This is an evening we have been counting down to since last September when the 2008 season ended. The weather was perfect, the beers cost a dollar and the 51s lost...but they usually do, so it's OK.

This weekend brings lots of excitement. Tonight Double L and I are heading to Don't Tell Mama, our favorite new piano bar down in Freemont East. Tomorrow is April 25th, 2009 and do you know what that means?? It means THE CIRCUS. Yes, I'm going to see Britney Spears in 28 short hours from now. There are a few things that could happen...

1. Her weave gets pulled out
2. She blurts out 'Merry Christmas!' in the middle of April
3. Her ex, Justin Timberlake, shows up to support her and instead falls in love with me (fingers crossed for this one!)
4. I scream like a 15-year-old girl for three hours straight

If I were you, I'd put my money on #4. And maybe #2. Full coverage to come!

Take Me Out to the Ball Game...

...We all sang along with Jim Belushi at the Cubs vs. White Sox game last night during the Seventh Inning Stretch. At this point in time, I was well into my forth beer and had a tummy full of peanuts and hot dogs. Renee and I had a BLAST with her Dad and Aunt Darla. The weather was a beautiful 63 and sunny out and the 83-year-old man sitting in front of us was a SPITFIRE. It was a great way to kick off the celebration of EEner's upcoming 27th birthday. Sure, the Cubbies lost but the day did not and now when people ask me, "What is your favorite season?" I can happily reply with "Baseball."
