I haven't loved a song this much since Jesse McCartney.

It's Like a Jungle in Here!
This past weekend, we took a trip to Southern California for Lauren's birthday celebration and a little R&R over the three-day break. We had quite a few birthdays to celebrate which all turned out to be a success.
As a surprise for my upcoming birthday (June 7....mark your calendars, readers!), Lisa took me to her favorite local nursery to get some plants for the pots we had bought in Mexico after Habitat. Her place is AWESOME with many-a-different plants and she has become a house plant expert because of it.
I picked out the three above and turns out the hot pink one is on the tropical side of species so I'm trying my best to fake it out about living in the desert by spraying it down with a water bottle multiple times a day.
5 plants, a cat, and a puppy on the way...I've got a whole lot of life in my hands.

Habitat for Humanity: Re-Cap
Lisa, PY, Lauren, Boyfriend and I headed to Tecate, Mexico this past Saturday to participate in Habitat for Humanity. Along with being one of the longest days of my life, it was also the most rewarding. We got into Mexico around 7 a.m. and Lisa, PY and I took the painting tasks while J Man and LoBo hammered and nailed away. It got up to 120 degrees so water and Gatorade were our BFFs throughout the day. The family was so grateful and had worked 500 hours of community service to receive this addition to their home. The mom was actually the first woman fire fighter in Tijuana. My favorite was the youngest child, a four-year-old little girl who loved torturing the baby cat and sucking her thumb all while playing with her bellybutton. I had never actually witnessed pure poverty before and it was truly an eye-opening experience. I had to keep reminding myself that the youngest girl was just thankful to have a roof over her head and that running around on concrete floor chasing the kittens was pure happiness for her, that she has never known anything different. We worked until about 6 p.m. and had a closing ceremony where we gave the family a signed letter and the translator read us a letter aloud from the family. There was not a dry eye in that desert by the time we were done. I highly recommend this experience for anyone, it is a day I will never forget. And thank you to Jenner for documenting the day with photos :)

My First Crash
Don't worry guys, I'm AOK. I just had a little wreck last night. J Man and I decided to cruise on our bikes to see Branmuffin which is about 17 miles round trip. At mile 16, I got a little lazy and went to stretch while riding and locked up my back breaks and took a dive forward resulting in my worst injury since the scratch from Allie in March 2007.

Jesse McCartney: The New N'Sync?
I was driving home the other night and a song my baby intern, Sara, had played for me a few times came on the radio. I found it to be catchy before so I turned it up and FELL IN LOVE. I thought it may have been the three glasses of wine I had over mother/daughter night so I came to work the next day, found the song on myspace and haven't stopped listening to it since. So it's official, Jesse McCartney's 'Leavin' is my current jam.
Now for those of you who are unaware of my past, I was a HUGE N'Sync fan. Renee and I once learned all the moves to Bye-Bye-Bye so her dad would buy us tickets to the show. There's something about Disney pop that just hits my soul like none other.
Here is the link to Mr. McCartney's myspace (yes, its hysterical to call him Mr. since he's like 12 1/2) just in case you are curious. http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendID=3844924
Determine for yourself (after 3 or 4 listens, the first 2 are just a warm-up)...is Jesse the new (I can't bring myself to say Justin but let's say...) JC?
