#estesrogen #estescape

A few months ago, while we were anxiously awaiting is Sean would put a ring on Catherine's well manicured hands, the girls and I came up with the idea that we should do our Bachelor-esque date sometime.

Conveniently enough, the Living Social Gods must have heard us as we got an offer for a horseback ride for two, plus hot chocolate, in Estes Park. To make a weekend out of it, we booked a room at the Stanley and ordered a dozen fresh red roses. Ok, that last part isn't true but the rest is.

The result ended up being one of the best 24 hours I've ever had. Four girlfriends, a horse, a haunted hotel and enough alcohol to dance our hearts out until 2 a.m. at Kelli's Lounge made for the perfect #estesrogen storm. And a few great pictures along the way:

I don't know if it was the RedRum Punch at the Cascade Whiskey Bar inside The Stanley before our outing on the town, or the confidence of having three of my ladies with me, but I sang karaoke. TWICE. #thingsishouldnotdo

After we shut down Kelli's nightclub lounge, we got back to the Stanley to explore. No ghosts opened doors for us, we did that on our own, but it was incredibly cool to be wandering around The Shining Hotel that oozes history (it was built in 1909) and haunting stories in every nook and cranny.

8 a.m. rolled around way to quickly the next morning and we were all said to say farewell to the little town in Rocky Mountain National Park that we had made our home for 24 hours but I have a sneaking suspicion this won't be our last romantic lady getaway.
